All the Books

I originally saw this meme on Khy's blog, Frenetic Reader, and it's hosted by Jordyn at Ten Cent Notes! It's very bookish fun in general and I'll try and put some effort into formatting it nicely ;) Plus I really did want to put this picture here:

(look at all the white space for those covers..)

Code Name Verity by Elizabeth Wein (oh god, you may drown in my gushing)

Pink by Lili Wilkinson (so much fun!)

Beautiful by Amy Read (not as fun)

I'm probably going to pick up Take a Bow by Elizabeth Eulberg next :)

Books mentioned:

The Starboard Sea - Amber Dermont
Changeling - Philappa Gregory
Take a Bow - Elizabeth Eulberg
The List - Siobhan Vivian
Girl Out Loud - Emily Gale
The Penguin Anthology of 20th Century American Poetry - edited by Rita Dove
Tomorrow, When the War Began - John Marsden
The Way We Fall - Megan Crewe

And to copy Khy, A SONG:

-yeah, I heard it on Grey's, sue me. AND THE FINALE FOR GREY'S LOOKS INSANE.

Happy reading, lovelies! What did you get this lovely week?

And Happy Mother's Day too :)

  1. Just read Take a Bow, kind of didn't meet my expectations, but it was interesting learning about kids who go to a performing arts school.

    1. Aw man, some people were just telling me awesome things about it. i definitely think the setting of a performing arts school will appeal to me though :)

  2. Yo.

OK so I love your top/dress and your nifty necklace and bracelet and basically EVERYTHING about your outfit. pretty lady :)

such wonderful books this week. it feels like such a long time since you did this so I was pretty pumped when i saw your tweet!

and oh no about Tomorrow, When the War Began by John Marsden. I am so ready to love that when i get it because so many people seem to adore it. but we shall see.

hope you had a lovely weekend hun. and love the red wall paint (yes i notice this stuff because i am weird) :P

    also, bookshelf tour. YES? :)

    1. hehe thank ya darlin, I made some effort!
Aaah, I hope to read Tomorrow sooooooon!

And yes, bookshelf tour soon! I hope! I'm trying to figure out if I should film it with my laptop webcam or bad quality on my camera...we'll see..

  3. I haven't gotten into Code Name Verity but I hope it's as good as everyone says it is :D

    I second that bookshelf tour!

    1. I HOPE YOU LIKE IT! gahh, i really loved it :) and maybe soon!

  4. I think I may have to start adding a song to my ATB posts, too.

Also, Beautiful is one of those books that was so not what i expected. A bit too dark for me when I read it.

    1. Which would be awesome :)
And yeah, I personally thought it was too dark for a character who was 13.

  5. Aw, I don't watch that many vlogs but I really enjoy watching yours! It's just very conversational and easy to watch? I agree with you, The Penguin Anthology looks SO BEAUTIFUL! When you were flipping through it, I could imagine the quality I get really nerdy over things like that, haha.

    1. Aww thank you for watching!!! And ahh seriously, so much nerdy squeeing. It really is a gorgeous book, it feels good just to hold it LOL

  6. I've read both of Elizabeth Eulberg's books, I'm waiting on Take A Bow paperback, hope you enjoy it! I hope that Tomorrow clicks soon! I just really loved the characters, they grow on you and they're so authentically written in my opinion. Have you watched the movie adaptation?

And you look so adorable there! Love the nails and the top (it looks like a dress) and God, your fringe is perfect. It sucks, seeing you all up for warm weather while it's getting colder in Australia. I forgot what it feels like to have warm hands while out/at the computer...

    1. Ooh, same! And I'm hoping to read Tomorrow nextish if I get the chance, just power through it because i"m sure I'll be sucked in sooner or later. I was originally planning on watching the movie adaptation after reading the book :)
And hehe, thank you so much! I always forget you Aussies have it the other way around, I can barely wrap my head around it ;) *hands you hot chocolate*

  7. oh, i need to get code name verity

for some reason i am scared i will not love it llike everyone else has loved it

also, i love TWTWB. so very Australian, my fave book characters <3 but if youre not feeling it, don't force it :)

for those who are confused, it means "Don't forget to be AWESOME". *hugs*
